The Velveteen Rabbit is the poignant story of a stuffed toy that wishes to become a real rabbit. He is told by the other nursery toys in the house that the only way to become “real” is by gaining great love and affection from their owner, a young boy. Despite being the shabbiest of all the toys, the Velveteen Rabbit longs for the boy to love him and soon gains his affections. However, when the boy contracts scarlet fever, the Velveteen Rabbit is faced with a whole new potential fate as he is slated for destruction to stop the spread of the disease. Will the love and belief of a child be enough to turn the Velveteen Rabbit into a real rabbit before he has to face the fire? This children’s story of love and identity is sure to be great fun for the entire family.
